English Written Test

Assessment is essential to measure what students have reached during certain learning time.  In this lesson I did the assessment part, an English Written Test, which consists in three parts. Listening, reading and writing.  The writing part was divided in two: vocabulary use and writing  each part of the test had the aim to check what students have learned so far.  This was a surprised for students as it was the last part of the lesson, they were expecting a normal class that ends in a writing lesson part. I explained them that the objective of the test was to check their improvements in English from the previous classes and they will be given a grade for each skill.  I wrote an example on the board with the three skills and their percentage. I gave the test and read the instructions to make sure all students understand what they would do.  The test length was thirty minutes, but it was designed for fifteen minutes. The majority of the results revealed we did a good job teaching.
